Morning has Broken?
Nov. 22nd, 2010 03:51 amBart wasn't exactly sure why he'd agreed to this, letting Cissie see him in the early morning, when sleep wasn't going to happen again. He'd gotten used to it, just going out to watch the sun rise, feeding Bob if he'd come back from his nightly explorations. After he'd woken up screaming, he chose to move out to the treehouse, even though it was on the far side of the island.
In the chill of the small hours of the morning, he'd thrown on a jacket and grabbed some blankets, as well as a couple bottles of juice and fruit. It wasn't a real breakfast, but it would mean they could eat if they wanted. There were some places to keep food in the treehouse, but he didn't keep much there out of concern for feeding wild explorers. Bob defended his potted plants with fervor, but other food that he didn't consider edible was left to rot or attract flies and rodents.
He didn't want to wake Cassie, so he tapped lightly at Cissie's shuttered window, hoping it was quiet enough. And that she wasn't a sound sleeper.
